All of the other trekking crews could not stop talking about how expert our company was. Casper and Emmanuel, our assistant guide, were incredible throughout the whole climb and have become lifelong friends. Truly the experience is one that we will cherish for the rest of our lives as is the friendship we bear them. The rest of the crew was professional and so welcoming to us as we crawled up the trail compared to their breakneck pace. Without fail, the camp was setup when we would arrive and more often than not, they finished setup so much earlier than us that some would come back and boost our morale the rest of the way to the next camp. Unfortunately, by the end of it I didn’t really get much of chance to interact with all the characters of our trekking crew. Everyone who was tasked with a specific domain (tentmaster, toiletmaster, chef, guides etc.) had a lot of face time with us and we really had a chance to get to know them and bond. The others of the crew, especially the porters, didn’t get much of a chance to interact with us. One thing that we would change, is more chances for us to interact with the rest of the crew. I think that allows a more human relationship between client and crew and would lead to more impactful experiences for both. Overall though, this experience was top class and we have already recommended peak planet to some of our friends and family.
