Our trip was so successful because of the experienced guides that we had. The skill levels, experience, and age of the trekkers varied widely, and that took lots of well-experienced leadership to guide and control the pace of the group rather than individuals going astray. The only information I underestimated was the total preparation and the strength required to complete the summit night ascend and decent after the Uhuru summit. There was no real break in between and the terrain was so difficult when coming down. I could have used some cleats or ice picks when descending the mud trails coming down.
