How long does it take to walk up Kilimanjaro? This is a question that takes a bit of clarification. Mount Kilimanjaro is 19,341 ft tall. It is the largest free-standing mountain in the world. Depending on which route you take or which gate you start from will determine the length of each climb.

There are several routes to choose from. They are the Lemosho, Machame, Northern Circuit, Rongai, Marangu, Shira, and Umbwe. Since we do not guide the Shira and Umbwe, we won't cover them. If you want more information on those routes, go here: https://peakplanet.com/best-route-climb-kilimanjaro/

Lemosho Route

how long does it take to walk up kilimanjaro

We offer a 10 (group and private) and 9-day (private) Lemosho climb. This includes an arrival and departure day. We add the travel days so clients are not arriving the first day of the climb. In fact, we recommend that you come in at least one day earlier. For example, if your arrival day is October 5th. Book your flight to arrive on the 4th. Booking this rest day allows for any flight delays and for any delayed or lost bags. This also gives you a day to recover from the long flight.

For the 10-Day Lemosho route, you will be on the mountain for 8 days. For the 9-day Lemosho, you'll be trekking for 7 days.

Northern Circuit

We offer an 11-day Northern Circuit climb. For this trek, you'll be on the mountain 9 days.

Rongai Route

For the Rongai route, we offer both an 8-day private or group climb. Which will be 6 days on the mountain and a 9-day private climb, which is 7 days on the mountain.

Machame Route

For the Machame route, we offer both an 8-day private—which will be 6 days on the mountain. And a 9-day private or group climb, which is 7 days on the mountain.

Marangu Route

For the Marangu route, we offer an 8-day private climb, which is 6 days on the mountain.

In conclusion, the length of time it takes to climb Kilimanjaro is directly affected by the route you choose. So what are you waiting for? Book your trip of a lifetime today. https://peakplanet.com/dates-prices/
