Our Ferrino synthetic down jackets will keep you warm and toasty on Kilimanjaro’s cold nights. The PrimaLoft® Silver Insulation is engineered with millions of air pockets to trap body heat in extreme conditions. The lack of bulk means great freedom of movement for activity. And the water resistant treatment ensures it maintains its warmth properties even in wet conditions. The jacket is designed for durability, maximum comfort and protection.

Trekking Poles

Our rental trekking poles are lightweight aluminum telescopic poles of various brands. Rented in pairs. Trekking poles help take some of the weight off of your legs during the hike and transfer some of your weight into your arms. They also help your stability when hiking over uneven or wet terrain.

ALTOX Personal Oxygen

We are one of only a few Kilimanjaro operators that offer ALTOX Personal Oxygen Systems.

ALTOX is designed to aid climbers on their ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro. It can eliminate most if not all of the symptoms of altitude illness, in the process it can greatly improving your chances of a successful summit and making it a far more pleasurable experience.

An ALTOX Personal Oxygen System provides oxygen supply to a climber on the mountain. Oxygen is supplied directly into the nostrils via our silicone nasal cannula, rather than a facemask. The system utilizes a pulse dose meter which detects when the climber is commencing an inward breath.

A small and precise dose of oxygen is delivered during the first part of the inhalation, ensuring that the valuable oxygen reaches the deepest parts of the lungs. This method of dosing makes it possible for each oxygen cylinder to last for 7 to 10 hours.

Our mountain guides are all fully trained on how to deploy the system, making it easy and simple for you to use. Two oxygen canisters are included in each system, carried in a backpack. The first canister is used during an acclimatization hike to get you used to the system. The second canister is used on summit night. A guide will carry your normal daypack during summit night so that you do not have to carry both the weight in your pack and the oxygen system.

If you have any doubts about acclimatizing to high altitude, ALTOX is highly recommended.
